Woods wins his 4th of 2018

Weekend update!!!!

Jason Woods captures 4th win of the year. This weekend the RMLSA participated in the annual El Paso County Fair Race. 20 drivers were checked in and would not disappoint. Some early rain kept the track bad fast for the heat races. Heat race winners were won by Dave McCray in his first race back this year. Followed by Woods in heat #2 and Open Wheeler (Chris Crowder) in heat #3. The track did its usual thing and slicked off and glazed over. What wasn't expected was the second groove that built grip and provided for some great and intense side by side action. The main event saw some misfortune for young gun Johnny Boos and Andy Flood in the first lap ending the night early. After that young gun Dakota Dillon jumped out to the lead and was looking like he was gonna take back to back wins at El Paso County Raceway. Due to a late spin he was unfortunate enough to not get back to victory lane. The top 3 was rounded out by Michael Are with an impressive 2nd place finish after having some early season troubles. 3rd place was rounded out by Chris Crowder after another strong dig thru the field. The RMLSA takes 2 weeks off before we go on a August/September racing binge. Stay tuned for more updates. This was just race number 8 of 19 with plenty of room for change!

Crowder wins the Al Wilson memorial

On July 7th , the RMLSA raced at I-76 Speedway for the Al Wilson Memorial Race. 21 cars made the trip.
The heat races were won by Andy Flood in the #9F, Johnny Boos in the #24B, and Jason Wessling in the #56. The feature race was a dandy. The #9F of Andy flood took off to lead the first few laps. The #1 of Troy Ullery took over the lead followed by the #26 Chris Crowder and Flood. Ullery and Crowder had a great battle brewing exchanging slide jobs. Lapped traffic made for some tough passing with the #1 Troy Ullery tangling with the #81 car, causing him to flip. He was Okay, but unable to return. Crowder sailed on to win the $777 purse. Next week, 7/14, the RMLSA heads to El Paso County Raceway in Calhan, CO for the El Paso County Fair Race!!! Come on down and watch the action- races start at 5PM.
