Johnny Boos wins at Phillips County Raceway

Night one of the Independence Day Doubleheader saw 15 Lightning Sprints make the long trip to the fast 3/8 mile clay at Phillips County Raceway in Holyoke, Colorado. Heat races were won by #24B Johnny Boos and #82 Jason Woods. The feature saw Johnny Boos take the lead , but the hard charging Woods tried to catch him but couldn’t quite get it done. Joel Mellon in the #3J had his season best finish rounding out the top three. #7 Josh Flood finished fourth, followed by his father #9F Andy Flood. #1 Troy Ullery finished sixth, #86 Jenn Woods seventh, #61 Jesse Fernandez in eighth, #33 Gale Ingram in 9th. #26 Chris Crowder rounded out the top 10. #32 Blair Cooper, #0 BJ Sauer, #31 Steve Becker and 39x Dakota Dillin rounded out the field.

Brent Rees wins Powri RMLSA Race #6 for 2019

19 Powri RMLSA Lightning Sprints made the trip to I-76 Speedway in Fort Morgan, CO for race #6 Of the 2019 Season for a night of Non Wing Racing. 3 Heat Races were won by #5 Brent Rees of Arvada, CO in Brandon Steele owned R1 Powered XXX, #0 BJ Sauer in his ZX12 Powered XXX Chassis, and #23 Adam Trimble in the Potoker owned GSXR Powered Ellis. A little shower came thru after the heat races, and made a smooth slick track. 18 cars took the green, and ran 20 laps with one caution flag early . At the end the #5 Brent Rees took the checkers for his first win of 2019. The #24B Johnny Boos took second place for the third week in a row, followed by #23 Adam Trimble in third. #82 Jason Woods and #39X Dakota Dillin rounded out the top 5. The #86 Jenn Woods took sixth, followed by #7 josh Flood, #56 Jason Wessling, #0 BJ Sauer, #00 Jacob Hazlett, #61 Jesse Fernandez, #3J Joel Mellon, #7 Andy Flood, #10 Ken Brown, #33 Gale Ingram and #31 Steve Becker. We have now had 4 winners in 6 races running 4 different chassis, and 2 different brands of engines. Next up- July 4th and 5th doubleheader at Holyoke and Fort Morgan, CO. See you at the races.

Woods wins POWRi RMLSA Race #5 at El Paso County

Jason Woods scored his second victory for the season at El Paso County on Saturday night. 17 Lightning Fast Lightning Sprints made the trip without wings to El Paso County Raceway in Calhan, CO. 2 heat races were run and won by Johnny Boos and Jason Woods. The feature lined up with those two in row two. Caution and red flags came several times early in the race but all drivers were OK. As the race progressed a heated battle between the two front runners Boos and Woods. Woods prevaled as Boos tried the top, and found no bit up there. Final results are #82 Jason Woods, #24B Johnny Boos, #39X Dakota Dillin, #57 Chris Crowder, #86 Jenn Woods, #31 Steve Becker, #23 Cullen Potoker, #61 Jesse Fernandez, #00 Jacob Hazlett, #7 Josh Flood, #3J Joel Mellon, #32 Blair Cooper, #33 Gale Ingram, #5 Brent Rees, #9 Andy Flood, #13 Josiah King.
