Martinez Wins at El Paso !!

15 Powri RMLSA Lightning Sprints teams competed at El Paso County Raceway for race #4 for the 2019 season. 2 heats were won by #24B Johnny Boos and #7 Josh Flood. The feature race saw the #7 Josh Flood take the lead followed by the #46 Matt Martinez and #9F Andy Flood. #24 B later took the lead followed by Martinez and #39X Dakota Dillin. Boos extended his lead until the rough track launched him into the turn one tractor tire flattening his left front tire. A timely caution for another broken car allowed Boos to change the tire and rejoin at the back. Dillin kept pace with Martinez until the rough track broke a helm joint forcing him to the back of the tow truck. After the restart a riveting battle for the top 5 included Martinez , Andy Flood, husband and wife teammates #86 Jason Wood and #86 Jenn Woods, Boos and #31 Steve Becker. Boos passed them all nearly catching the leader on the last lap. When the checkered flag flew multi time Lightning Sprint winner #46 Matt Martinez in the Jesse Fernandez owned Fab Tech cross the line for the win. #24B Boos right behind him for 2nd, #9F Andy Flood in 3rd, #82 Jason Woods took 4th, #86 Jenn Woods wrapped in the top 5. Sixth Rookie #32 Blair Cooper, seventh place #31 Steve Becker, #7 Josh Flood in eight, the #00 rookie Jacob Hazlet takes ninth with the 3J Joel Mellon finishing 10th. #13 Josiah King takes 11th, #33 Gale Ingram finishes 12th, #39X Dakota Dillin in 13th, with #56 Jason Wessling and #61 Jesse Fernandez rounding out the finish. With our Phillips County race being cancelled, the next race is June 8th back at El Paso without the wings. See you there!!!

Johnny Boos makes it two in a row in a close one!!

The third race night of the 2019 POWRi RMLSA Season saw 13 cars make the trip south to the first winged race of the season at Honor Speedway in Pueblo, CO. Heat races were won by #39X Dakota Dillin and #82 Jason Woods. The feature lined up 12 cars led by the front row team mates Andy and Josh Flood. After a lap two caution for a spinning car, the field ran the rest of the race green to checkered. Josh Flood, Jason Woods and Andy Flood led the field for most of the 19 green flag laps, but behind them charging thru from his 7th place starting spot was the #24B of Johnny Boos, who using a lapped car, passed race leader Josh Flood coming out of the last corner. Boos won by only a few feet. Johnny Boos wins at I76 Speedway

A beautiful spring evening had 16 wingless Lightning Sprints Racing at I76 Speedway for race #2 for the 2019 Season. Two heat races were again won by #1 Troy Ullery and #24B Johnny Boos. The feature started well with Troy Ullery taking the lead . On lap #4 he #7 Josh Flood car spun in turn 2 collecting the #0 BJ Sauer and his teammate #9F Andy Flood. All three cars were hurt, but the drivers were fine. Several laps later the #24B Johnny Boos took the lead in the high side and never looked back. Finish is #24 B Boos, #82 Jason Woods, #39X Dakota Dillin, #86 Jenn Woods, #61 Jesse Fernandez, #31 Steve Becker, #3J Joel Mellon, #10 Ken Brown, #33 Gale Ingram, #57 Gregg McGlaughlin, #1 Troy Ullery, #46 Matt Icke, #7 Josh Flood, #0 BJ Sauer, #9F Andy Flood.
