2018 Race #2 sees Woods on top again

Weekend Recap!!!!

On a cold misting spring night, 15 of the RMLSAs' best, braved the tow and headed to the fastest dirt track in Colorado- Phillips County Raceway, (PCR), promoted by BST Promotions, for a first of 2 visits for the 2018 Season. The track was rich with moisture and the light mist made sure to keep it tacky and hammered down! Heat race #1 started with Open Wheeler Chris Crowder jumping to the lead and not looking back. Josh Flood was following when he unfortunately had to pull off due to motor failure. Heat #2 started with Jesse Fernandez jumping out front and taking the lead. He held last year's champ Blaine Schubarth off for a few laps until Blaine was able to catch him and pass him taking the heat #2 win. After the heat races the feature lineup saw Andy flood and Jesse Fernandez on the front row. They took the green and followed nose to tail for a few laps till a caution came out. On The restart Jason Woods jumped to the outside from 4th position and passed 3 cars in a lap and saw him hot on the tail of Andy Flood. The following lap he would gain the lead and never turn back. Jason won his second consecutive main event followed by hot shot Johnny Boos and Blaine Schubarth rounding out the podium. RMLSA takes a week break and will head back to Philips County Raceway Saturday 5/26 and then straight to El Paso County Raceway 5/27 for a Memorial Day Weekend show down.

Jason Woods sweeps race night #1 for 2018

2018 is here and brought out 20 of the RMLSA’s best out to Butch Speichers famed I-76 Speedway in Fort Morgan Colorado. The track was smooth, heavy and hammered down. Jason Woods would start on the pole in the Feature and lost two spots early. Just before the halfway mark a Steve Estrada and Dalton Webb would tangle bringing out the first caution of the evening. Woods restarted in 3rd, and would get past Chris Crowder leaving race leader Johnny Boos to have to negotiate with. As Boos and Woods entered lapped traffic, Boos tangled with a lapped car and spun. Woods took over the lead with Crowder and Skyler Wissman pressuring for the lead. Wissman got by Crowder finishing second behind Woods. Jason Woods swept the night winning both his heat and the Feature in his GSXR powered Henchcraft. The other two heats were won by Johnny Boos and Chris Crowder. Next up- the fastest dirt in Colorado.
